1. Preliminary Preparation
Before starting PCB design, it’s essential to prepare the schematic (SCH) component library and the PCB component footprint library.
2. PCB Structure Design
In the PCB design environment, draw the PCB board outline and place the required connectors, buttons/switches, screw holes, mounting holes, etc., according to the positioning requirements.
3. PCB Layout Design Services
Layout design involves placing components within the PCB board outline according to design requirements. PCB layout design is a crucial step in the entire PCB design process. The quality of the PCB layout directly affects subsequent routing.
4. PCB Routing Design
PCB routing design is the most labor-intensive step in the entire PCB design process and directly impacts the performance of the PCB board.
In the PCB design process, routing generally has three levels:
First, achieving connectivity; second, satisfying electrical performance requirements;
Finally, achieving neatness and aesthetics.
5. Routing Optimization and Silkscreen Placement
Connect signals of the same network. After routing is complete, the entire PCB routing requirements need to be checked. Check the power routing to ensure it meets current carrying capacity requirements and various certification requirements.
6. Net DRC Check and Structural Inspection
Quality control is an important part of the PCB design process. Common quality control methods include: self-inspection, peer review, expert review meetings, and special inspections.
7. Output Production Files
After the circuit board passes the final DRC check, design files need to be generated for the manufacturer.
- 1) ASM folder: Contains assembly files, top and bottom layer assembly drawings, for customer component assembly.
- 2) CAM folder: Contains Gerber photoplotting files, IPC netlist, and PCB production documentation.
- 3) DXF folder: Contains structural drawing files used in the project.
- 4) PCB folder: Contains the final PCB file for the project.
- 5) SCH folder: Contains the final schematic file for the project.
- 6) SMT folder: Contains surface mount coordinate files and stencil files.
